It’s official

George Bush said one of his three primary objectives for the next four years, is to assign a committee to refine federal taxation laws. The leading view at this moment in time is a federal sales tax system.

Following is an outline of the cause and effect that this system will have on your life, and some additional bad deals being worked that will play into a sales tax initiative.

Affects of a Federal Sales Taxation System:

It will not force politicians to help you keep your job, or find a new job. Why? Because under a sales tax system, it won’t matter to them if you are working or not. You will still have to buy things to survive, and they will get your tax money then.

Even Homeless people will have to pay large tax amounts just to eat.

If you make any big credit purchases, you will be paying interest on the sales tax. (I.e. Purchasing car etc.)

You will no longer have a voice if politicians decide to raise taxes. Under a sales tax system, they will not raise the percentage collected, which at this point 25% is being considered, they will raise the tax on business – which in turn will raise prices on their products, and the affect is you are paying much more in dollars.

The net affect of a sales tax system is; it will not place the onus on our elected leaders to ensure the citizens of America are first. Although this system is better than our current taxation laws, it will not do much to help you out on a daily basis.

Additional BAD Deals in the Works:

First - HB750 is a bill that many folks are spending a lot of money on for our government to pass. HB750 reduces your education portion of your homeowner’s tax, and instead raises sales tax and corporate taxes to compensate. In application, it is a pseudo sales tax system and a pre-requisite to the national sales tax initiative that I spoke about above.

What they don’t tell you is that HB750 is flawed. Little is said about the impact to the business and job environment of increasing corporate tax by 60%, adding sales tax to many services, and removing business incentives within communities. It is a recipe for more layoffs as business will either move to more favorable profit locations, layoff staffing to offset tax increases, and increase prices to astronomical levels. In addition, you will no longer have a vote in saying no to new taxes. When they want more, they will increase business tax, which in turn will increase prices on the merchandise they sell, which means you are still footing the tax bill, but now you will no longer have a voice within the process. A Tax is a Tax, even if it is indirect.

This is a sick way of getting around Senior citizens who usually vote down referendum tax hikes, and bypassing Parents who demand fiscal responsibility from community representatives. Seniors don’t vote no because they no longer have children within the districts, they vote no because they feel there is too much waste and would like to see it reduced before they vote away more of their money. HB750 will take your voice away.

Second – FTAA. What is it? It is a treaty in the works that takes NAFTA to a new level. FTAA stands for “Free Trade Area of the Americas” The Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA) is the expansion of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) to every country in Central America, South America and the Caribbean, except Cuba. Negotiations began right after the completion of NAFTA in 1994 and are to be completed by 2005.

Negotiated behind closed doors, with little citizen input but plenty of suggestions from corporations, the FTAA is yet another example of the kind of free-market fundamentalism that has created a global race to the bottom that erodes environmental protection, workers' livelihoods, and human rights. If you think NAFTA has been a disaster for working families and the environment in the US, this will be far worse.

What will the FTAA do? Many things, but in a nut-shell it eliminates borders between North and South America, allows free trade throughout all of the Americas, and eliminates the need for work visas, green cards and citizenship. Anybody can go work anywhere, and not be bothered with legal immigration rules. Corporations will have a free hand to set-up shop anywhere in the Western hemisphere. This idea will not create new jobs in the US, but instead will legalize an illegal immigrant’s right to work anywhere, without the fear of being found and deported.

The combination of all the above is setting up a ruinous situation for the already declining American way of life. The United Citizens of America has a plan that can alter this ill-conceived political agenda, but we cannot force the issue to higher levels unless you help and get involved. The organization needs people behind it. Why? Because only people can vote. If enough people stand-up and say no, politicians will start listening.

Crossroad of our Nation

We are at a crossroad in our nation’s direction and many people either don’t see it, or are too consumed with just trying to survive to even think about getting involved. It is a very dangerous time in our country. The American dream is being squashed by politicians, and at every level of government and educational institution.

This is why we created the United Citizens of America. We feel that the root of all evil is greed and power. Money drives this more than anything does. Our tax money is feeding government and educational institutions, and as they waste it, they want more and more from us every year.
If we hope to counter greed and corruption within our political ranks, we feel that we need to limit funding and hold public officials accountable to fiscal responsibility. Our public officials should be treated no differently than the Enron and WorldCom executives who stole money from the organization and ultimately the people who worked for them. Our public officials are no different, and there are many who should be heading to prison for the abuses they perpetuate upon the citizens of their communities, states, and nation.

This travesty must be stopped. We can do it, but only if we are united in cause and focus. The United Citizens of America is the tool that can force the changes needed within every level of our public institutions. It must be built and solidified with a nation of Americans behind it.

How did our greatest President see our country at its inception? Following are some thoughts and regards that our nation’s first President, George Washington, supplied in his farewell speech of 1796, and how the United Citizens of America fits within this great Presidents vision.

George Washington clearly supported a stronger Federal government. (The UCA feels that the Federal Government should be non-partisan within the executive office, and should oversee all State affairs to ensure the States are taking care of their citizens. Corruption should be weeded-out and those found guilty of abusing citizens funds, should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.)

George Washington saw his men as Americans, not citizens of individual states. (The UCA fosters this vision with our name. Political parties have their own agendas. The UCA feels that their only agenda should be the betterment of the citizens.)

George Washington viewed political parties as divisive and dangerous. (The UCA views political parties as self-serving and running to agendas that do not support our nation’s citizens. This is why we feel our nation’s highest office should be non-partisan. For proof, just look at the travesty they are making of this election process.)

George Washington felt that the corrupt nature of man would express itself in parties. (We think we are definitely seeing this in today’s political ranks)

George Washington felt that factions or parties would promote self-aggrandizement, greed, and corruption. (Republicans and Democrats and Libertarians and the Greens, do you think any of them are not guilty of Mr. Washington’s statement?)

George Washington believed the belief in GOD and morality are the two most important habits. The U.S. would lose security for property, reputation, and life if the religious obligation would desert the oaths that are instruments of investigation in courts of justice. (Aren’t they taking the Ten Commandments out of our courts? The UCA President recently wrote – “The commandments should be followed by every culture in every nation, across this planet. If you view them as a religious symbol - you are misguided. They are not a religious symbol. They are the basic fundamentals of humankinds inter-existence. Without these values within any culture, civil society ends.”)

George Washington does not believe the government should spend foolishly. Regarding the present, answers may vary, but it seems Washington would reject the amount of money currently spent by the government. (The UCA truly believes that our proposed Universal American Citizen Tax is the tool needed to control government waste and spending. It is the only system that will force our governments to again work for its citizens.)

George Washington believed that by favoring one nation over another, the U.S. would be putting the favored nation’s interests over American citizen interests. (Think about this statement and you will see how our government is already in this mode of conduct.)

George Washington supported a person’s natural and traditional rights. He said’ “a bill of rights is consistent with acknowledging corrupt human nature and its possible infection of government” {politicians}. (The Patriot act is already squashing our Bill of Rights as American Citizens.)
