SSN Crisis de-BUNKed

The Bureau of Labor Statistics says that out of 100 people that start working at the age of 25, by the age of 65...

1 is wealthy
4 have enough money to retire
63 depend on Social Security or Charity
29 are deceased

Doing the math, there are 180 million working adults in our country;

1.8 million will be wealthy
7.2 million will have enough money to retire
114 million will depend on Social Security or charity
52 million will be deceased

If the 52 million who are deceased (and never drew their SSN benefits) had contributed $5000 dollars annually into the SSN pool, and for argument sake, let’s say they lived on average to be 55 (ten years under retirement age), each would have contributed $150,000 to SSN (not counting interest earned). 52 million multiplied by 150 thousand, is roughly $7.8 TRILLION dollars.

The 2006 SSN budget of the United States is $9.5 Billion. 9.5 Billion Goes into 7.8 trillion, 812 times; so in theory, if our government stopped spending peoples SSN money, SSN would be able to be funded for the next 812 years. If they doubled everyone’s retirement benefits, there is enough money in the SSN pool for the next 406 years. If they quadrupled every retired person SSN benefits, there would be enough money in the SSN pool for the next 203 years. (this is only counting the deceased contributions)

WHAT IS THE ISSUE ??? Greed, Corruption, and Mismanagement; Period.

Nationally the typical widow receives a benefit of $865 per month. If our government stopped spending our SSN money, this widow could receive $3460 per month, and there would still be enough money in SSN for the next 203 years.
