Save Democracy

Howard Dean touched Americans in the beginning with his energy and vision, however misguided it may have been. Although he said the right things, his plan would not have forced revolutionary change within our government. The only way to force this to happen is with a tax system that sets boundaries around the current money soaked political system that is killing American dreams.

I read an article written concerning a Presidential hopeful refusing government campaign funding and instead inciting Americans to "put-up or shut-up." This statement embodies the very organization that I lead today - the United Citizens of America.

No one person can change our political system. It will take a nation of Americans, standing behind a common vision, to force the necessary changes within Washington. Unfortunately, the corruption is too deep within both prominent political parties for us citizens to rely on them to change it. We must force the change from a centralist and common sense standpoint.

What needs to happen?

1. Government needs to get smaller at every level, and in this technology age, it can get smaller without hurting the programs or the communication process of the nation.

2. Government (at all levels) needs to get more efficient and hold employees to the same standards that we now hold leaders of private industries. If they abuse public money, and do things that impair the average citizen, they must be held accountable to the letter of the law. This goes for our school systems also.

3. Quit stifling Americans with over-burdensome taxation. Our current system (at all levels) is leading the average American into economic slavery. Implement a taxation system that holds politicians accountable to the people, and watch the nation thrive. Only an income tax system can accomplish this objective.

Do these things and our nation will once again be the democracy it was envisioned to be. If we do nothing and maintain course, Freedom will die. Our nation’s current political track is leading us toward a Socialist/Fascist regime. This is not what America is about.
